Is it safe to keep using it?
Depends on code severity. Low/Medium codes often allow continued use, High severity requires immediate stop.
Can error codes be reset?
Some codes clear after power cycle. Persistent codes indicate underlying issues needing repair.
When should I stop using it?
Stop immediately for water leak codes, burning smell, or any High severity error.

Common Symptom
F1E0
Electronic oven control fault
High
Pressing Bake, Broil, or Convection on the Maytag MGR or MER control panel produces no response — elements and igniters stay off because the EOC has locked itself out.
View
F1E1
Oven temp runaway
High
The cavity temperature climbs well past the target — sometimes 100°F or more above the setpoint — before the EOC trips the fault and cuts power to the elements or gas valve.
View
F2E0
Oven over-temperature
High
The bake element or gas burner cuts out suddenly mid-cycle, the display shows F2E0, and an alarm tone sounds — indicating the cavity exceeded the thermal cutoff threshold.
View
F2E1
Door latch or lock fault
Medium
The Maytag range initiates self-clean, the latch motor engages, but the control never receives the locked confirmation and cancels the cycle — leaving the door unlocked at ambient temperature.
View
F3E0
Temp sensor open circuit
High
Elements or gas burner energize briefly then cut out within the first few minutes of any cook mode.
View
F3E1
Temp sensor shorted
High
Heating elements or the gas burner on the Maytag range energize for only a few seconds — or not at all — before the EOC cuts power and displays F3E1, because the shorted sensor is reporting an extreme temperature.
View
F3E2
Temp sensor high reading
High
The control displays a high temperature reading even at room temperature — the sensor has drifted.
View
F5E0
Door lock failed to lock
Medium
The Maytag range initiates the lock sequence, the latch motor runs, but the door never locks — the control cancels the self-clean cycle before any temperature increase occurs.
View
F5E1
Door lock stuck after clean
Medium
The Maytag range completes the self-clean timer and the cavity begins cooling, but the door latch arm does not retract — the door cannot be opened and F5E1 is displayed.
View
F9E0
Door lock motor fault
Medium
On Maytag MGR and MER models the latch motor either fails to reach the locked position before self-clean begins, or fails to return to unlocked after the cycle — in both cases F9E0 is displayed.
View
LOC
Control lock engaged
Low
Pressing any pad on the Maytag range control panel produces no response — the Loc indicator or the lock icon remains on the display and no function activates.
View
PF
Power failure mid-cycle
Low
The range display shows a power failure indicator when power returns after an outage or breaker trip.
