Low Medium High
Code Meaning Severity Common Symptom
BAD PAN Incompatible cookware Low Selecting a power level on the affected zone produces a short tone sequence but no heating — the cookware is not recognized as compatible. View E1 Element thermistor fault High The MEC or induction zone accepts a power-level input but produces no heat. The element indicator may flash briefly before E1 appears on the display. View E2 Burner over-temperature High An element running at high power suddenly stops heating and E2 appears on the display. On induction models the cooling fan may continue running for several minutes while the coil temperature drops. View E3 Cooling fan fault High When the cooling fan is confirmed absent, the Maytag induction board disables all cooking zones to prevent the inverter from overheating. No zone responds to input while E3 is active. View E5 Control board internal fault High No zone responds to touch input and the cooktop is fully locked out regardless of which zone is selected. View E6 Induction comm error Medium The affected induction zone accepts a power-level input but does not produce heat. View E7 Power supply fault High No zone responds to any input — the entire cooktop is disabled until the power supply fault is resolved. View F5 Element relay fault High On a stuck-open relay, the affected Maytag MEC burner accepts a power-level input and the display shows the selected setting, but the element produces no heat. The hot-surface indicator does not illuminate. View F7 Stuck touch-control key Medium No touch input registers on any zone-select, power-level, or power-on pad — the cooktop is fully unresponsive.
